The one parents ask for most

Choose exactly which YouTube channels your child can watch

With most parental controls, YouTube is either blocked or wide open. SafeScreen has a middle setting: you make a list of channels you trust, and nothing else plays.

  • Add the learning, nature and kids' channels your child already likes. Anything not on the list is blocked.
  • Your child still gets the videos you're happy with, and you don't have to worry about where the next recommendation leads.
  • Restricted Mode and Safe Search are locked on as well.

New · Safe AI

Decide which kinds of AI your child can use

Kids can now reach chatbots, companion apps and image generators from any browser, and plenty of them weren't built with children in mind. SafeScreen groups AI sites into categories. You allow the ones you're comfortable with and block the others, starting from defaults based on your child's age.

  • Each category has its own switch: general assistants, homework helpers, companion bots, image generators and so on.
  • There are recommended settings for under 13s, 13-15 and 16-17. Change whatever doesn't fit your family.
  • Nudify and deepfake tools are blocked for every child. You can't turn that off.

What you get

What you can control

Screen time & bedtimes

Give each child a daily time limit and a bedtime. The PC winds down when time's up.

YouTube channel controls

Pick the YouTube channels your child can watch. The rest of YouTube stays blocked.

Safe AI

Let your child use homework helpers while companion bots and image generators stay blocked. Defaults depend on age.

Block inappropriate sites

Unsafe sites are blocked out of the box. You can add your own sites or banned words in a couple of taps.

Safe Search that stays on

Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and YouTube only return safe results, and your child can't change that.

Real-time alerts

If your child tries to open something you've blocked, you hear about it right away instead of in next week's report.

Weekly activity reports

Once a week you get a short summary of what your child searched for and which sites they visited.

Requests & extra time

Your child can ask for a blocked site or more time, and you approve it from your phone in seconds.

How it works

You set the rules. The PC follows them.

When you change a rule, every device picks it up within seconds. After setup you don't need to touch your child's computer.

1

You set the rules

From your SafeScreen account you choose safe search, blocked sites, banned words and the block page, per child.

2

The cloud pushes them

Each device holds an open, encrypted connection to SafeScreen, so new rules arrive a few seconds after you save them.

3

The PC enforces them

The SafeScreen agent sits between apps and the internet. Depending on your rules, it blocks a request, sends it to safe search instead, or shows the block page.

Privacy

What SafeScreen sees, and what it leaves alone

You'll see the searches and sites your child visits, which is usually enough to start a conversation when something looks off. That's as far as it goes. Your child's PC doesn't become a spy device.

Only you can see your reports. We don't sell your family's data or mine it.
  • We don't log keystrokes, so nothing your child types is recorded.
  • We don't take screenshots or watch the screen.
  • We don't track anyone's location.
  • We don't read chats or social media messages.

One policy, always in sync

All your children and their devices live in one account, along with a few tools beyond blocking.

Screen time & bedtimes

Daily limits and a bedtime for each child, enforced on the PC.

Weekly activity reports

A weekly summary of searches and sites visited.

Real-time alerts

You're notified as soon as your child tries to open something blocked.

Parent dashboard

Manage every child and device from a web browser. There's nothing to install on your end.

Good questions

The things parents ask first

Can my child just uninstall it?

No. SafeScreen runs as a Windows service and removing or changing it needs Administrator rights, which your child's account doesn't have. It also starts up again before they log in.

Will it slow the internet down?

You shouldn't notice any difference. Filtering runs on the PC itself, so traffic isn't sent through a distant server first.

Which browsers does it cover?

All of them, and other apps too. SafeScreen filters at the network layer, so Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Steam, Discord and Roblox all follow the same rules.

Set it up tonight and sleep a little easier

It's free for one PC and runs in the background on Windows 10 and 11.

SafeScreen only runs on Windows for now. Other platforms are coming.
